Celebrating 17 years of Paula at Dancers Boutique

On Saturday 3 January 2026, we held a reunion for past employees of Dancers Boutique, all of whom worked for Paula before she retired in October 2025.

Myself and Dancers Boutique’s most recent employee, Molly, organised the meal as a surprise for Paula and her mum Sheila, both of whom have put so much into the running of Dancers Boutique since 2008.

We were joined by Alice, Georgie, Grace, Louisa, Anna, Verity, Sian and Suzie, all of whom worked at Dancers Boutique at various times in between 2008 and 2025.

Employees of Dancers Boutique have all gone on to have interesting, successful and varied careers and lives.

Some of their chosen paths include retail, paramedicine, mental health services, marketing, graphic design, the legal profession and dance teaching.

Three of the women have gone on to own and run their own independent businesses; Georgie, Principal of The Maggie Monk School of Dancing, Verity, who runs her own craft business named Verity’s Hobbies, and myself as the new owner of Dancers Boutique.

It was wonderful to all get together and share our appreciation for Paula and Sheila and the support they gave us in our younger years.

Paula always recognised our skills and helped us develop them and I know we are all very grateful for the impact she had on us during this time in our lives.

My thanks to Molly for helping organise such a special evening and to all my ex-colleagues for making the effort to be there.

It was so lovely to see everyone and reminisce about a workplace that is very special to every one of us.
