Meet Holly, our Assistant Manager

Holly Davies, our Assistant Manager at Dancers Boutique, answers questions about her dance experience, her favourite things about working at Dancers Boutique and what she has learned so far.

Tell us about your dance background

I started ballet at Lorraine’s School of Dance (now Creative Dance Studios) in Bushey, Hertfordhire, and then I went on and did a Foundation Year at Evolution. Then I went on to Bird College and graduated last year (2025).

What’s your favourite dance style?

I would have to say jazz because I think it’s really versatile. I like a high energy style of jazz but I also like a kind of stylistic, smooth heels jazz too!

Whats your favourite dance move or step?

If it was tap, it would have to be a timestep or a wing. Then, if it was ballet, I like a grand jeté en tournant.

What’s one dance style you haven’t tried yet but have always wanted to?

It would have to be ballroom or Latin. My grandma did it growing up and it’s something I’d like to honour and continue maybe one day.

What have you learned so far from working at Dancers Boutique?

While being here at Dancers Boutique, I’ve learned lots about the brands we stock, the fitting of the items and just lots of products I didn’t even know were out there.

What’s been your favourite thing about working at Dancers Boutique so far?

I’ve loved meeting all the customers, from the smallest ones when I’m fitting their first ballet shoes, up to our older dances. The ballrooms shoes have been a particular favourite as I love chatting to the dancers and showing them the different styles of shoe.

You studied Musical Theatre at Bird - what’s your favourite musical?

I’ve got quite a few favourite musicals. I would say Newsies because it was so good when I saw it at the Troubadour. I saw Les Mis a few years ago as well which was absolutely life-changing.

I have to pick Little Shop of Horrors - who doesn’t love that one?! And then, finally, Hamilton, because I just think it’s so different to anything else that’s out there.
